What happiness for us, to be a Little Sister of the Poor!
St. Jeanne Jugan, the foundress of the Little Sisters, responded in faith to dedicate her life to God in service to the aged poor. It did not matter to her why old people were poor. What mattered was that they felt loved and sheltered in old age. As Little Sisters we live a life of contemplative action. We live in community and with the aged Residents we serve. Together we create a family where the elderly poor are respected, cared for and embraced in love.
Perhaps you feel the stirring in your heart of God calling you to consider consecrated life as a Little Sister to serve the elderly with compassion and love. Do not be afraid! Be open to the voice of God! Encourage one another to come to know God’s will!
Queen of Peace is located next door to St. Ann’s novitiate, a place of formation and discernment for women who have received a call from God to join the joyful family of the Little Sisters.
