Three Little Sisters made their first profession on July 19, 2014. Because the novitiate is next to our Home, Queen of Peace was delighted to welcome their families, and friends. Traditionally, Queen of Peace hosts the celebratory luncheon. The auditorium was beautifully decorated with a statue of Jeanne Jugan, wooden sailboats and other items reminding us that St. Jeanne Jugan grewn up close to the sea in Brittany, France.
As a surprise, Pope Francis appeared, though only in paper, and was the center of photographical activity. Many Little Sisters wanted to have their own personal picture with the Pope!
Under blue skies, the newly professed and our new novice Sr. Bernadette Rose (formerly Megan Spelic) took pictures in the novitiate garden with Bishop Zubick of Pittsburgh. Their faces are lit with joy. St. Jeanne Jugan told us: What happiness for us to be a Little Sister of the Poor!
You can see additional photos and information on our national site here.
Congratulations, Sr. Amy, Sr. Elisabeth and Sr. Maria Carmen!
