On Sunday, November 6, award-winning soprano Gay Willis performed with the Angel Voices & Bells of St. Aidan’s Church for our Hollywood and Hymns benefit concert at Kellenberg Memorial High School. Several Residents from our Homes in Queens and the Bronx were happy to attend with front row seats. The concert included Ms. Willis’ moving rendition of Pie Jesu, for which she received acclaim while starring in the world tour of The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber, as well as songs made popular in the movies. Pianist David Mauillo played the musical accompaniment with flair. Interspersed throughout the show were performances by the Angel Voices & Bells children’s choir of St. Aidan’s Church, directed by Dragan Ivanov Bubalo. The Little Angels Choir delighted the audience with its enthusiastic presentation of Lord We Give Thanks. The Bell Choir played with precision and skill This Joyful Day. Ms. Willis also sang a lively duet of You Are My Lucky Star with Kevin McDonough, a vocalist with the North Shore Pops Concert Band. The two also performed the gospel spiritual Down to the River to Pray. Sincere thanks to Gay and company for generously sharing of their talents to benefit the Home and to all those who made the event possible!
