Goodbye Father Evans
You Will Be Missed and Forever Loved
We recently received the official notification that our Chaplain, Fr. Evans Julce, has been reassigned as Chaplain to two communities of Sisters who live together in the Monastery of the Precious Blood in Brooklyn: Sister Adorers of the Precious Blood and Servants of the Lord and the Virgin of Materá. This will be effective in early March.
Fr. Evans has been such an important part of the spiritual lives of our dear Residents, Sisters, and Staff since his arrival at Queen of Peace in 2018. His daily homilies and prayer vigils always had a clear and positive message to assist each of us on our own spiritual journey. Our Christmas and Easter Eucharistic celebrations were wonderful experiences of faith under his direction.
During the pandemic, Fr. Evans was also a source of spiritual strength and a constant reminder that the evil of the pandemic is no match for God’s love for us. Father always made himself available to meet the spiritual needs of our Residents and Sisters. His selfless love for the Sisters and for their Mission was obvious from the day he arrived at Queen of Peace.
Aside from our missing his spiritual guidance, we will certainly miss his ever-present smile and wonderful sense of humor. Father’s upbeat and humble personality brought great joy to all of us.
We wish our dear Fr. Evans all of God’s blessings as he continues his own faith journey. We have made it clear to him that he is always welcome at Queen of Peace, provided he doesn’t arrive on his motorcycle!
God Bless Fr. Evans.
