For 25 years, the Little Sisters of the Poor at Queen of Peace Residence have held their annual golf outing. This year, on May 5th, guests came to the beautiful Hempstead Country Club to honor William Blake, a longtime friend and benefactor.
It was a perfect day – the weather was beautiful, sunny but not too hot. There were 114 players who participated in the outing – our largest annual event.
The Little Sisters were there throughout the day to greet our friends and benefactors, and help with various tasks throughout the day. Residents joined the Sisters to wave and cheer as the golfer left on the shot gun start just after 12 noon. Several of our Residents were able to come enjoy the delicious brunch, ride on the golf carts around the scenic grounds of the golf course, and attend the cocktail hour and evening dinner.
We are most grateful to our Golf Committee and Auxiliary Committee members who all worked so hard to make this year’s event such a success. We are also thankful to those who attended the event and supported the event. May God bless you for your generosity!
