If you have come to Queen of Peace recently, you might have noticed a new statue and replanted garden in our driveway. A refurbished statue of St. Jeanne Jugan on a lovely pedestal surrounded by trees and flowers now stands at the front entrance to our property. This was made possible through the help of many hands: those who transported our Mother from Our Lady of Hope in Latham to us, the maintenance men who refurbished the statue, the workman who build the lovely garden wall, and the gardeners who planted the trees and flowers. As always, St. Jeanne Jugan passed through many hands, as, in turn, she touches many hands and hearts.
Bishop Peter Brennan blessed the statue of St. Jeanne Jugan on her feast day. He had just returned from our Motherhouse in LaTour, France where he participated in the solemn Mass on the occasion of Perpetual Vows of 26 Little Sisters (you can see some pictures of it here – you have to scroll down a little)
May St. Jeanne Jugan now welcome all who come to Queen of Peace and offer them God’s love!
