Our celebration of the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on June 7 was blessed by the Enthronement of the image of the Sacred Heart in our Home, following a special ceremony in the chapel led by Fr. Andrew Apostoli of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal. By the Enthronement, we invite our Lord to be our constant and most intimate companion. We consecrate ourselves to Christ as King of our hearts, and we desire him to be present with us always. Fr. Apostoli began the ceremony with a short conference. In his talk he spoke of the tenderness of the Lord, who loves us so much that he gives us his heart. He encouraged the Residents to give meaning to their sufferings and sacrifices by offering them to Jesus, who offered himself on the Cross out of infinite love for us all. Fr. Apostoli then led us in the consecration to the Sacred Heart. Following the ceremony, he hung a beautiful painted image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus outside the chapel in a place where it can be seen easily by the Residents and all who come to the chapel. May the Enthronement be a reminder that helps each one of us to grow in God’s love and in love for one another.
