An Advocate for our Residents
We are blessed to have a strong and faithful advocate for our Residents at Queen of Peace. Helen Drakoulias, LMSW, is our social worker who is dedicated to ensuring that each of our Resident’s receive the essential services for which they are entitled and the financial support necessary for securing those services. Helen’s work is essential to allowing our elderly Residents to live in security and comfort.
Our Residents meet Helen when they submit an application for admission. Helen is the initial source of information concerning the financial and medical records needed to supplement the application and discusses the policies of our Home. After a person becomes a Resident, Helen continues to stay in routine contact with them to ensure all of the Resident’s needs are being met by our staff. On any given day, Helen can be seen leaving her office on the first floor to visit ( in a proper socially distant manner) with a Resident. She does all of this with a smile (behind the required face mask) and a caring and concerned attitude which is so greatly appreciated. Helen also makes herself available, by phone and in person, to family members of Residents to answer any questions they may have as to their loved one’s care received or other services that may be available.
As you can imagine, the amount of regulatory paperwork required to be produced by Helen is considerable. We are fortunate that Helen is an extraordinary professional and makes sure that we are in compliance with the various agency regulations we must satisfy.
As a result of Helen’s dedication, the services at Queen of Peace Residence continue to be provided without regard to race, creed, color, national origin, gender, marital status, or disability.
