On the Radio

  • August 22, 2018

Yesterday Mother Mary Richards and Sister Judith, traveled to Bay Ridge Brooklyn to be interviewed by radio personality and attorney, Michael Connors for his broadcast “Ask the Lawyer” on AM 970 – The Answer. Mike is a good friend and steadfast supporter of the mission of the Little Sisters. This was an opportunity to talk about the 150th Anniversary of the arrival of the Little Sisters of the Poor in America and the establishing of their first Residence in Brooklyn.

Mother Mary also discussed the mission of the Little Sisters and their devotion to the elderly poor. Mother expressed the importance of the sanctity of life for the Little Sisters, from conception to natural death. When asked if such thinking might be considered by some to be outdated in today’s world, Mother Mary stated simply “Faith is timeless.” The interview also allowed an opportunity to speak about the various opportunities people have to volunteer their time and talents for the care of our Residents.

We will be getting a copy of the recording of the interview which will be suitable for emailing to our friends and benefactors. Stay tuned!
