On Thursday, June 28, we made our way in a chartered bus, our bus and a minivan to Saint Agnes Cathedral in Rockville Centre.
Residents and Little Sisters were anxious to gain the indulgence for the Jubilee Year of Mercy. The Blessed Sacrament was exposed, and after walking through the Holy Door, we took some time for prayer.
Other people were also in the Cathedral and at 3 p.m., there was the recitation of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. The Residents in wheelchairs had a front row seat in front of the pews.
This pilgrimage also gave our Residents a chance to see the icon of Saint Jeanne Jugan on the balustrade in the sanctuary of the Cathedral.
On our way home, we stopped at the Five Pennies Creamery for an ice cream treat. The flavors were many and the ice cream was delicious!
