The Queen of Peace Bowling League
Our Residents have always been known for their interests in sports. During this time of the year, there is plenty of talk around the Home of baseball, especially the Home- favorite, Mets. Baseball games can be seen on many television sets throughout the Home or heard on radios.
Our Residents are also known for their competitive spirit. This is always confirmed during any community game of bingo.
Thanks to our Activities Director, Mariann, a new game has been introduced into the activity schedule for our Residents. Bowling has arrived at Queen of Peace.
Bowling has proved to be very popular amongst our Residents, and after a few days of getting familiar with the participation in the activity, the competitive nature of our Residents has once again emerged. All of this makes for a good time of fun and fellowship for all.
The Queen of Peace bowling league is slightly modified to accommodate our Residents and the space we have available. The bowling balls and pins are made of sturdy plastic. Instead of a Resident being required to throw the bowling ball, the ball must be sent down a slopping metal rack to hit the pins with the correct speed and direction.
Everyone looks forward to participating in this newest traditional activity at Queen of Peace.
