The Face of Our Home
Over the past few months, we have shared with you stories about the many people who help make Queen of Peace the Home it is. One positive result of the pandemic is that it has given us the unique opportunity to reflect on the time, talents and treasures of the many people who partner with us in our Mission. This reflection has led us to feel truly humbled by such commitment of our partners. We are most thankful that we have the opportunity to share their stories with you.
We further reflected on the question, “Who is the face of our Home?” It was a short reflection. The face of our Home is our dear Sr. Elisabeth Anne. Our dear Sister has been at Queen of Peace for nearly 40 years. It was her vision and dedication as our “Begger”, that created a formidable network of friends who could provide the prayers, in-kind support and financial contributions needed on a daily basis to make Queen of Peace the Home it is today. This network was the precursor to our Development Department today. Our dear Sister has accomplished a great deal for the Little Sisters and Queen of Peace. To hear her tell it when you try to acknowledge her service, she is fond of saying in response, “ I am the lowest rung on the ladder.”
Sr. Elisabeth Anne is our honoree for this year’s Golf Outing, which as you know, has been reduced to a letter of support campaign. As our honoree, Sister still has created an air of excitement over a Golf Outing that will not happen! Many of the responses we have received so far contain financial support for which we are grateful, but also notes to Sister. These numerous notes express the love, respect and admiration so many of our partners have for this “lowest rung on the ladder.”
Our dear Sr. Elisabeth Anne is truly the face of our Home. How blessed we are indeed!
