We recently received a letter from the daughter of one of our Residents who is in formation to join the Association Jeanne Jugan. Her words bring out how Association members share with the Little Sisters in the spirit of our mother foundress, St. Jeanne Jugan. The letter reads:
Shortly after Mom came to Queen of Peace, Sr. Gabrielle gave me a book to read, Jeanne Jugan: Humble so as to Love More. I could not put the book down and quickly finished reading it. Jeanne, a simple young woman with a humble background yet so wise in her ways … I found myself telling everyone I know about St. Jeanne Jugan and the Little Sisters … I found myself fascinated by St. Jeanne Jugan and wanting to know more about her. Sr. Gabrielle invited me to participate in the Association Jeanne Jugan formation, which I have been doing.
Sr. Gabrielle amazes me with her knowledge and stories about Jeanne Jugan, the Little Sisters and things that have happened in the past and present day in different homes. We have covered much material over the past year. Each time we have met, it seems to me there is the recurring direction to see Jesus in each person, to recognize that they are made in the image of God, to love them, serve them and make them happy.
