On Thursday, October 17th, 2013, our Residents enjoyed a wonderful excursion to St. Joseph’s Home in Enfield, Connecticut for their annual Oktoberfest.
The daylong excursion is an opportunity where Residents and Sisters from the Little Sisters homes throughout the tri-state area can get together. As the Queen of Peace contingent arrived, we were greeted with smiles and hugs by old and new friends. Gerri, who had moved to the Little Sisters’ home in Latham, New York to be closer to her family, had time to spend with her old friends from Queen of Peace; and Margaret, who had come from Latham to our home, was happy to see her friends from Latham again. Jeanne Jugan’s family spirit could be felt throughout the day as Sisters, Residents and volunteers mingled. A wonderful and joyous time was had by all!
Fall foliage, hay rides, sing-a-longs and delicious wienerschnitzel, what else could you ask for on a beautiful autumn day?
