We were blessed to have the picture of Our Lady of Guadalupe displayed in our chapel for 2 days. Residents, sisters and staff took the opportunity to pray and present their petitions to Our Lady, especially prayers for peace!

Her word that consoled Juan Diego can also console us today:
Listen, put it into your heart, my youngest and dearest son, that the thing that disturbs you, the thing that afflicts you, is nothing. Do not let your countenance, your heart be disturbed. Am I not here, I, who am your Mother? Are you not under my shadow and protection? Am I not the source of your joy? Are you not in the hollow of my mantle, in the crossing of my arms? Do you need anything more? Let nothing else worry you, disturb you.
Pope Pius XII declared her to be the Patroness of the Americas in 1946.
In 1999, Pope John Paul II, during his third visit to the sanctuary, declared the date of December the 12th as a Liturgical Holy Day for the whole continent.
In 2002, Juan Diego was canonized in a ceremony presided by His Holiness John Paul II in the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, on July 31.
Our Lady of Guadalupe – pray for us!
