Ready to Serve Once Again
As you can well imagine, the lockdown of Queen of Peace from of the pandemic has been a hardship for our Residents and their families, along with our friends, volunteers and associates. One group in particular that has missed being of service to our Residents and Sisters is our Auxiliary Committee. This is a group of unique volunteers who donate their time and incredible talent to make our special events so memorable for our guests.
Due to the lockdown, we have not had a special event since our Bandstand event in March 2019!
Things are about to change and our Auxiliary Committee members will once again have an opportunity to serve. On Monday, August 23 we will hold our 31st Annual Golf Outing at the beautiful and newly renovated Hempstead Golf and Country Club. This event, traditionally held on the first Monday in May, was rescheduled this year due to the pandemic. Our Golf Outing remains our largest fundraising event. This year is no exception and our honoree is our dear friend, Robert L. Dougherty of Garden City.
We are sincerely humbled at the outpouring of support offered by our Auxiliary Committee members to help out once we decided to hold the event on Monday, August 23. You will know our Auxiliary Committee members by their name tags, positive attitudes and genuine welcoming manner. You will see many of them at the Outing doing what they do best; being ambassadors for the Mission of the Little Sisters.
And speaking of the Golf Outing, we are most grateful to all of you who will be attending either for the golf or the dinner and of course for the fun and fellowship which is the trademark of our Outing. Golf reservations are selling out, so if you plan to play, please make a reservation.
We are most grateful to our Golf Committee, chaired by Joe Liana, for generating such a positive response for our Golf Outing.
