Grateful for our “Go-to Guy”
Every organization needs a “go-to guy” to help keep everything running smoothly. We are most fortunate to have Nick Sooman here at Queen of Peace. Nick has been devoted to Queen of Peace for the last 12 years! Nick is at our Home, at the Bronx Terminal Market at 5 a.m. on Tuesday mornings with Sr. Elisabeth Anne, before the pandemic he was taking the Residents to the supermarket in our bus, he makes the necessary trips to the bank, the printer, the mail house for our donor mailings, the post office for our thank you letters, and he takes care of the extensive aviary we have on the first floor.
Nick’s ever-present smile brings joy to everyone he meets. His positive can-do attitude is truly appreciated by our Residents who rely on him for keeping them safe and well cared for. The pandemic has made Nick’s job more difficult as he travels to the many places which are needed to be visited to keep our Residence running smoothly. As a result of the pandemic, Nick wears full PPE as he travels during the day knowing that the safety of our Residents is our paramount concern. Nick has met this challenge with his usual unassuming grace and positive outlook.
Queen of Peace runs smoothly because of our “go-to guy” for whom we are most grateful.
