Our Auxiliary Committee – Still Serving!
Our Auxiliary Committee is made up of a group of dedicated women and men who make sure our special events during the year run seamlessly, are enjoyed by our guests and generate much-needed revenue for the direct care of our Residents. The members share their time and considerable talents with tremendous camaraderie and good humor. Our events are second to none as they highlight our mission in a warm and welcoming environment. You can always tell an Auxiliary Committee member by the ever-present smile.
So with the pandemic upon us and the postponement of our 50th Anniversary Gala and 31st Annual Golf Outing, what is there for the Auxiliary Committee to do? Bake. Yes, bake. We mentioned to the Committee that the Residents were missing the various cookies that we try to serve during the day. So what did the Committee do? Under the leadership of Norma Romero and Megan Tourlis, the word out and before too long trays of home-baked cookies began arriving at our Home for our Residents.
Keeping this small piece of a normal day going during our present situation is a very big deal indeed.
We are blessed to have such a dedicated Auxiliary Committee at Queen of Peace. Thank you!
