At the January meeting of the Auxiliary Committee of Queen of Peace Residence, the Committee had the opportunity to thank Willy Schiffer as she ended her term as a co-president of the Committee. Willy has been a dedicated and tireless member of the Committee for many years. She has freely given of her time, talents and treasure all for the purpose of ensuring that Queen of Peace Residence remains a place that our Residents may call home, all in an environment of love, respect and safety.
Willy has personified the words of St. Jeanne Jugan, the Foundress of the Little Sisters of the Poor, who said “Making the elderly happy – that is what counts.” Willy’s steadfast commitment to the Committee and her leadership initiatives as co-president of the Committee gives true witness to these words.
In presenting Willy with a bouquet of flowers at the meeting, Mother Celine spoke of Willy’s enthusiasm, energy and compassion for the mission of the Little Sisters. Truer words were never spoken.
The Committee sincerely thanks Willy for her service and example as she leaves the co-president position. In her words to the Committee, Willy made it clear that she will still remain active with the Committee. Willy will remain a blessing to Queen of Peace Residence.
Thank you Willy Schiffer
