An unselfish gift
“FOR I WAS HUNGRY AND YOU GAVE ME SOMETHING TO EAT…”
– Matthew 25:35
As trying as the times are presently, God’s grace is ever present. A few days ago, one of our housekeepers was asked by some of her friends what they could do to help Queen of Peace Residents. The friends were told that groceries are always needed at our Home. .
This group of people do not possess what is commonly called “discretionary income.” However, they got together, went to a local supermarket in Queens Village and bought three shopping bags of groceries for our Home.
No doubt, these folks have their own needs, concerns and worries in these uncertain times. Despite this, God’s words touched their hearts and they did something for someone else.
As we are reminded in Luke 21:1-4, “As Jesus looked up… He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins. “Truly I tell you,” He said, “this poor widow has put in more than all the others. All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.”
If we trust in the Lord, we will get through this most difficult time together.
Please be safe.
