Our 23rd annual golf tournament fundraiser, held Monday, May 7 at nearby Hempstead Golf and Country Club, was a wonderful success thanks to the generosity of those who participated both on and off the course. Following brunch, the 124 golfers began with a shotgun start, cheered on by a group of Residents. The Residents then enjoyed tours of the grounds in golf carts driven carefully by the Little Sisters. Throughout the day the rainy weather held off and the sunshine even made several appearances. Golfer Vinnie Papa won the admiration of all when he scored a hole in one! The day on the golf course was followed by dinner and a silent auction. Special thanks to the members of the Queen of Peace Auxiliary, who organized and prepared for the event with enthusiasm and devotedness. At the dinner we were happy to honor Auxiliary co-president Mary Frost. Thanks also to the staff of Hempstead Golf and Country Club, whose attentive hospitality added to the enjoyment of the day.
